and you will be loved
Close your eyes and we can float away,
All alone through this crowded place.

What is the meaning of growing up?

Does it mean the games you used to play as children are childish and therefore, should be outlawed in your world?

Does it mean that you suddenly wake up one day and think that your friends are too childish and therefore you decided to leave them behind in the dust?

What does growing up mean?

Growing up physically means growing taller.
Growing up mentally isn't quite so easy.

Growing up doesn't mean that you leave behind everything and then you just pretend it never existed.

Growing up never meant that you suddenly become withdrawn and regard the rest of your peers with contempt.

To me, growing up means knowing how to control yourself without alienating everybody else around you.

Growing up means that you keep laughing with your friends even when you have troubles.

Growing up means learning how to forgive and forget past problems.

Growing up means never forgetting your roots even if you go for greater heights.

You don't have to be cool and aloof just to grow up.

You don't have to forget your old friends just to attain your new ones.

And then, is it so bad if you stand back and watch your friends trying to 'grow up' around you?

No. I think not.

Because your spirit, that's what's important inside your heart.

Actually, I don't see why we should have to bear the brunt of all this growing up.

Why can't we just stand back and watch the world go by?

I don't know. Everybody seems to be hurting each other in the rat race these days.

Everybody seems to want to hurry up and grow older so they can get their life to where they want.

I don't understand why everybody has to change.

I just don't.

There's a danger in loving somebody too much
And it's sad when you know it's your heart you can't trust.
There's a reason why people don't stay who they are.
Because sometimes, love just ain't enough.
